Ufa State Aviation Technical University founded on the base of Rybinsk Aviation Institute formed in 1932 which moved to Ufa in December 1941, is one of the foremost aviation technical universities in the Russian Federation. The University is known both nationally and internationally for its science schools and has an extensive network of creative and scientific links with world-famous universities.
More than 20,000 students are taught at the University. It is a large scientific-educational-innovative complex with renowned science schools that prepare specialists at all levels: Bachelors, Masters, Candidates and Doctors of Sciences.
The main scientific areas in USATU correspond to the main areas of scientific, technological and technical development in the Russian Federation and to the list of critical technologies of the federal level: Information and Telecommunication Systems; Nanosystems and Materials; Transport, Aviation and Space Systems; Power Engineering and Energy Saving, etc.
The University intensively develops international contacts and takes part in a number of international educational and scientific programs. Joint educational and supported by Russian and international grants and promote the development of creative collaboration of participating universities.
The University has established the Centre of education, research and innovation (CERI) that solves the problem of setting up close relations between all participants of innovation activities. Besides it helps to stimulate their participation in social, economic, technological, educational and cultural development of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
