Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia UNED, founded in 1972, is the only university run by central government of Spain located in Madrid, Spain. UNED, one of the largest universities in Europe, is a distance learning and research university. It contains 2 technical collegesUniversity provides 27 bachelor´s degrees, 76 masters degrees, 19 doctoral programs, 4 general diplomas and 5 technical engineering diplomas and 18 licentiate degrees and 3 advanced engineering degrees. Administrative staff of the university was 12,782 and 260,079 is the count students, out of which 178,601 were Undergraduates and 7,405 were Postgraduates. Currently there are more than 205000 students are studying there, which is the largest student population in Spain. Regulation for the recognition of research groups were Approved in the Governing Council of May 4, 2011. Various funded Research projects in the field of human Sciences, social Sciences, experimental sciences etc. In 2007, Enrique Teso Villar was funded for work on Organocatalysis and Asymmetric Organometallic Catalysis: Non-conventional polyclinic ligands in CC bond formation reactions. Research insitutes of the university are General Institute Gutiérrez Mellado and University Research Institute for Internal Security (IUISI)
