The Torcuato Di Tella University is a non-profitprivate university founded in 1991. Located in the Núñez neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, it has an undergraduate enrollment of 1,200 students and a graduate enrollment of 1,300. The university is focused primarily on social sciences. The undergraduates majors available are economics, business economics, business administration, law, political science, international relations, social sciences, history and architecture. The university also offers over 30 graduate programs. The faculty comprises 77 full-time professors, most of them graduate students and visiting scholars from universities abroad. The university provides more than 50 exchange programs with universities in Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. There is also a sizable number of international students that study in the University for a semester or two. Although economic problems have delayed the expansion of the campus, the university is moving to a new building which will allow further growth in the number of students and majors. Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) is a very small (enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 26 years old H.E. institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 40-50% making this Argentine higher education organization a averagely selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UTDT also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sport facilities and/or activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. Universidad Torcuato Di Tella has opened the following centers: the Center for Financial Research, the Entrepreneurship and New Business Development Center, the International Studies Center, the Crime, Institutions and Policy Research Laboratory and the Center for the Evaluation and Study in Social Economics for Poverty Relief. The Center for Financial Research publishes the Consumer Confidence Index, the Inflation Expectations Index, and the Leader Index, that aims to identify changes in the economic cycle. The Crime, Institutions and Policy Research Laboratory publishes a Victimization Index, which measures the percentage of people who have been victims of crimes in the previous 12 months. The university opened of the Torcuato Di Tella University Neuroscience Laboratory in 2014, which will study neuroscience and experimental psicology in an inter-disciplinary manner, with the presence of Lino Barañao, the Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina. The dean called the event "a first step in the development of hard sciences" for the university. Mariano Sigman is the director of the Laboratory, which has thirteen researchers.
