Founded in 1551, the University of Seville, is one of the leading institutions of Spain’s higher education system and was founded under the name Colegio Santa María de Jesús. It is one of the leading institutions of Spain’s higher education system and is the main public university with the highest number of students. Located in the downtown area, the University’s main building is bordered by the Maria Luisa Park and the Guadalquivir River. The total University Centres are 27 and Associate Centres are 6. The University has 133 Departments.
