The University of Göttingen was founded in the year 1734 by George II, the king of Great Britain, which is the oldest university in the state of Lower Saxony and has very biggest student enrolment. The university is located at Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany which is informally called as Georgia Augusta. Currently, there were 27000 students with an academic staff of about 4250 and an admin staff of about 7700. It is a public law foundation university. The university has thirteen faculties and has 47 additional centres and institutes. It is one of the highest ranked universities in Germany. The university has a great international renown and is ranked 2nd in Germany. The main motto of the university is “For the good of all”.
