Universiti Malaysia Perlis or UniMAP is located in the northern most part of the Malaysian peninsula. UniMAP is a government-funded Malaysian public university. It was formerly known as Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia and was established in the year 2001. The Universiti Malaysia Perlis has established eight research centers since 2005. There are approximately 6300 students and more than 600 academic and non-academic staff. Along with the graduate courses, the University Malaysia Perlis offers postgraduate courses. Apart from the local faculty and students, the university has 250 international students and 60 international staff from 16 different countries.
