Established in 1970, the university of Augsburg is situated in the Augsburg of Germany. The university is one of the young, modern universities in Bavaria. The current President of Germany holds a Doctor honoris causa from the University of Augsburg. It consists of approximately around 18,000 students, out of which 20% of the students are from outside Bavaria and 14% are foreign students which is a large percentage compared to other similar universities. There are about seven departments in the university which include Faculty of Economics and Business, Law, Catholic Theology, Philosophy, History, Social sciences, Mathematics, Computer science, and Natural sciences.
