University of Incheon

Incheon National University is previously known as University of Incheon. It is one of the national universities established by government of Republic of Korea (South Korea). Initially in 1979 Incheon Technical College was founded by Sunin Academy and in 1988 the college was promoted to a comprehensive university. Latter in 2010 the university merged with Incheon City College to form Incheon National University which was also nationalized in the same year. The vision of the university is to mold the local talents into world class talents by increasing their creative ability. The university is working towards to be a flagship national university in Korea. The motto of the university is ‘Future in Time and World in Space’.

University of Incheon is increasing the inter-university relationships trough developing international partnerships. By the year 2016, the university has collaborations, Exchange Programs and other International Cooperation with more than 100 universities around the globe. The University is having collaboration with a number of universities in USA, such as Colorado State University, Columbia University, Miami University, Purdue University, University of Arkansas, University of Colorado, and University of Utah etc. University of Incheon is also had a collaboration with European universities like University of Oxford, University of Bristol, Queen Mary, University of London, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, Wroclaw University of Technology, Ghent University, The Orleans University, Chemnitz University of Technology. The major collaboration of University of Incheon is seen form USA, Russia, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Several European & Asian Countries.

University of Incheon is listed 510 members as Academic staff and 305 members as Administrative staff by the year 2015. Also the university has 15,000 Undergraduates and 2,400 postgraduates by the year 2015. University of Incheon is having 11 colleges and schools in which 65 academic departments and programs are organized. The main academics were namely Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, law politics and economics, Engineering, IT, Business Administration, Life Sciences & Bioengineering, etc. All the academics are having supported colleges and affiliated departments. The Graduate schools which are affiliated to the Incheon University are enrolling for 35 masters and 28 doctoral degree programs.

Humanities Academic division is the bigger than the other academic divisions in University of Incheon. College of Humanities is leading the university with six departments on different linguistic studies, literature, cultural studies and regional studies. After Humanities, College of Engineering is leading in the row followed by College of Natural Sciences, Urban Sciences, and Colleges of Education. College of Life Sciences and Bioengineering is organized into two schools School of Life Sciences and School of Bioengineering. The schools are doing well in Molecular Biology, Molecular Biology, and Nano biology.
