The Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University ( VMSU ), was established in the year 2008 by an ACT ( No. 11 of 2008 ) of State Assembly pased by Government of Sikkim and was subsequently notified by the Govt. of Sikkim gazette. its sponsor aims at providing quality education in the fields of sciences, humanities & social sciences, medical, dental, paramedical, engineering and management, architecture, etc by establishing and management, architecture, etc by establishing appropriate infrastructure suitable to spread the higher education(HE), vocational education & training (VET) and industry specific employment oriented programmes. The Vision of the University is to ensure “excellence in higher education”. The Motto of the University lies in its “Vision, Knowledge and Wisdom”. The University has Central Library consisting of about ten thousand books and journals/ periodicals from different fields. The library has sufficient study space with internet facility. The library remains open during the office hours. Courses offered are B.Lib.I.Sc, MA, M.phil, M.COM and MCA. IEI Sikkim State Centre Dr L V Muralikrishna Reddy, FIE, President, IEI has inaugurated the Sikkim State Centre, the28thStateCentre of The Institution of Engineers (India), on 09 Nov 2015 at the premises of Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University, Tadong, Gangtok. Prof S P Srivastava, Dean, Central Agricultural University, Gangtok, Sikkim,was the Chief Guestof the event. Shri B .Brahma Reddy, Secretary and Director General of IEI read the Warrant of Establishment of Sikkim State Centre.
