Vinayaka Missions had its inception in the year 1981 with the establishment of the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. Dr. A Shanmugasundaram instituted the Vinayaka Missions College of Pharmacy in Salem, the pioneer institution of Vinayaka Missions. In the year 2001 the "University" status was conferred on Vinayaka Missions by The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, with the recommendations of the UGC (Established Under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956) as an acknowledgement of its excellence. Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust (Vinayaka Missions) was founded in the year 1981 at Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. This is a Registered Trust, totally self-supporting, with the dedicated philanthropist and educationist Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram as the Founder Chairman. Vision is o achieve excellence in education and to make education a tool for social change for the betterment of society. Mission is To spread education globally in the fields of medicine, dentistry, paramedicine, homoeopathy, engineering, management and arts & science using the existing resources and technology.
