Wiley College is a historically black college (HBCU) founded in 1873 in order to provide higher education for students with a will to learn and improve their lives. Though it was established in the Methodist tradition, Wiley College does not require students to be members of the Methodist faith. The physical plant of Wiley College occupies 70+ acres. Academic and administrative structures, residence halls, and the President's home comprise the campus' 17 permanent buildings, all of which have Internet connectivity.
The College has done an exceptional job blending the old and new architectural structures to achieve an attractive architectural balance. Wiley College has once again been ranked in the U.S. News & World Reports(USN&WR) America's Best Colleges as one of the best values among the 320 comprehensive colleges ranked within four regions: North, South, Midwest, and West. Wiley also ranked in the western region for highest acceptance rate among comprehensive colleges offering baccalaureate degrees, as well as having the largest percentage of alumni donors.
Wiley College is committed to educational access, which creates a diverse student body and many different student organizations to get involved in. Bachelor’s degrees in the arts, sciences and business administration are available. Shorter associate’s degrees for transfer or career training are also an option for Wiley students.
