Yunnan Agricultural University, located in the spring city—Kunming, is one of the key universities of Yunnan province. Founded in 1938, It has been 70 years since its establishment, the infrastructure construction of Yunnan Agricultural University has advanced by leaps and bounds.
The campus covers a total area of 2156 mu including school construction area of 454 thousand square meters and stuff residential area of 227 thousand square meters respectively; and gross amount of teaching and research equipment is about 110 million yuan; The collections of library consisting of 1193 thousand volumes of literature, 853 electronic books; and the gross value of the fixed assets is more than 520 million yuan. Currently, the university covers 18 colleges, including planting, breeding, water conservancy and hydropower, agricultural engineering, agricultural economic management and parts of humanities and social sciences.
Yunnan Agricultural University has established the National Agricultural Experimental teaching demonstration Center, The National Bio-Diversity Application Engineering Research Center and The National Pu-Er Tea Authentication Center; The Bio-diversity and Pest Management Laboratory of Education Ministry of China and other 17 key laboratories at provincial level; and 9 Crop Germplasm Innovation and Sustainable Utilization key labs and research center; Yunnan Bio-diversity and Bio-technology Innovation Training CenterãThe Yunnan Environmental Science and Engineering Innovation Training Center and 18 graduate schoolsã60 Internship Training Center.
Yunnan Agricultural University pays a lot of attention to exchange and cooperation with foreign universities. So far YAU has established partnerships with 118 universities from Great Britain, the United States, Japan, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, and other 32 countries.
