Zurcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften

The ZHAW is a legally independent university which is part of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and Arts (ZFH).  It offers to the undergraduate students with a Bachelor’s degree, students receive a high-level professional qualification. Students increase their employability prospects and become highly desirable as a specialist in your field. The degree programme generally lasts three years as BA in Communication, Applied Psychology, Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering, Engineering, Health Professions, Life Sciences and Facility Management, Management and Law. After the graduation, the best students are permitted to continue their studies in a Master’s degree programme in their specialist field. Universality have been developed research in many different areas. Firstly, the ZHAW is reacting to the huge challenge of the energy turnaround by bundling competences in energy research. Secondly, the ZHAW focuses on, and thereby makes a strong contribution to, societal integration. Research at the ZHAW aims to bring about and strengthen social, organisational and technological innovation in the society.  The ZHAW offers internationally oriented degree programmes as well as some new double degrees and is continually expanding its mobility programmes. There are currently over 440 partnership agreements with universities in 57 countries. The research profile of the ZHAW is characterised by two strategic focal points: energy and societal integration. This demands the interaction of various disciplines, since long-term security of supply involves not only technical and economic, but also socio-cultural and legal challenges. Through its research in societal integration, the ZHAW seeks to contribute to the strengthening of integration on the social, economic, cultural and political levels. In both key areas, the focus is on interdisciplinary research and social, organisational and technological innovation.
