Colon Infection is commonly known as Colitis. Colon Infections are mainly caused by bacteria and viruses. Common bacterial infections are Shigella, E.Coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter. Symptoms include abdominal pain, Fever, Chills and there may be constant pain. Crohn's disease may involve any part of the digestive tract from the oesophagus and stomach, through to the small and large intestine all the way to the rectum. Colon may lose its blood supply due to hernia.
