Atatürk University (Turkish: Atatürk Üniversitesi) is a land-grant university recognized in 1957 in Erzurum, Turkey. The university consists of 17 faculties, 5 colleges, 15 vocational colleges, 6 institutes and 16 research centers with 33,544 (2008-2009) students. Atatürk University's focal campus is in Erzurum city, Eastern Anatolia's largest city. It is now one of the city's most considerable resources. Since its establishment in 1957, it has served as a core of educational and cultural brilliance for the eastern region. The university is twinned with and has concurrence of cooperation with the University of Nebraska and the Balkan Universities Network.
