As per available reports about 65 journals, 45 Conferences, 26 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to Drug Abuse and about 12356 articles are being published on the current trends in Epigenetics. In terms of research annually, USA, India, Japan, Brazil and Canada are some of the leading countries where maximum studies related to Epigenetics are being carried out. The term epigenetics refers to heritable changes in gene expression (active versus inactive genes) that does not involve changes to the underlying DNA sequence; a change in phenotype without a change in genotype. Epigenetic change is a regular and natural occurrence but can also be influenced by several factors including age, the environment/lifestyle, and disease state. Epigenetic modifications can manifest as commonly as the manner in which cells terminally differentiate to end up as skin cells, liver cells, brain cells, etc. Or, epigenetic change can have more damaging effects that can result in diseases like cancer. At least three systems including DNA methylation, histone modification and non-coding RNA (ncRNA)-associated gene silencing are currently considered to initiate and sustain epigenetic change. New and ongoing research is continuously uncovering the role of epigenetics in a variety of human disorders and fatal diseases.
The Journal of Gene Technology is an academic journal – hosted by OMICS International – a pioneer in open access publishing–and is listed among the top 10 journals in genetic pre disposition. Each year research scientists have noticed a rise in the number of congresses being held in this field. The Journal of Gene Technology provides a unique platform to researchers and scientist to explore the advanced and latest research developments in the field of genetic testing, susceptibility and pre disposition thus bridging the gap between researchers and young scientists.
OMICS International – a pioneer in organizing international conferences (5th Cell and Gene Therapy Conference May 19-21, 2016, San Antonio, USA Cell and Gene Therapy Conference is to ameliorate the knowledge, awareness, and education on cell and gene therapy leading to the discovery of genetic and cellular therapies which aid to alleviate the human disease as it is the most significant emerging technology in the eyes of Medical, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals and Academia. Cell and Gene Therapy Conference 2016 is an excellent opportunity for the delegates from Universities and Institutes to interact with the world class Scientists).
|OMICS International hosts over 700 leading-edge peer reviewed Open Access Journals and organize over 3000 International Conferences annually all over the world. OMICS International journals have over 3 million readers and the fame and success of the same can be attributed to the strong editorial board which contains over 50000 eminent personalities that ensure a rapid, quality and quick review process.
