In terms of research annually, US, Japan, China, India and UK are some of the leading countries where maximum studies related to feminist theory are being carried out.  Feminist theory is the extension of feminism into theoretical or philosophical discourse. It aims to understand the nature of gender inequality. It examines women's social roles, experience, interests, chores, and feminist politics in a variety of fields, such as anthropology and sociology, communication, psychoanalysis, home economics, literature, education, and philosophy.
Feminism can be defined as a recognition and criticism of male supremacy as an effort to change it. The goals of feminism are:
