Aberystwyth University is a public research university located in Aberystwyth, Wales. The founder of the institution Aberystwyth changed the university name from University College Wales, Aberystwyth to University College of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1894. Again it changed its name to University of Wales, Aberystwyth in mid 90s. Initially the University started with 26 students and now comprises of around 7,500 students.
In 1901 Department of Law was established for the first time in Wales followed by Department of Dairy Science and First Mens halls of residence. In 1909 Departments of Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics are established and Department of Agricultural Botany in 1912. In 1929 Department of Agricultural Economics was established.
