The École Polytechnique combines research, teaching and innovation at the best scientific and technological level. The School trains responsible women and men capable of carrying out complex and innovative activities to meet the societys current and future challenges.Organization The organization of the École Polytechnique includes an Operations Department in charge of the two historic missions of the School (Teaching and Research) as well as Innovation, and a set of functional departments. All these directorates are under the control of the Chief Executive Officer. In addition, the School relies on a number of councils and commissions with specific missions in relation to its needs.The Board of Directors The Board of Directors, chaired by the President, is composed of the Director General, representatives of the State, staff members, students, alumni, Higher education and research, and executives of private or public enterprises.

State-of-the-art scientific laboratories:
The research center consists of 22 laboratories in the major scientific disciplines taught at the École: biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, mathematics, applied mathematics, mechanics and physics.
Training for entrepreneurship:
The École Polytechnique trains entrepreneurs and innovators by inspiring its students with a genuine entrepreneurial culture. As an actor in business creation, X is developing entrepreneurship and innovation training. Three masters in entrepreneurship are offered to students. Through these courses, the School wishes to encourage its students initiatives for entrepreneurship in areas with a strong technological component.
