Hahnemann University Hospital is a teaching hospital in Center City, Philadelphia. Made in 1885, it was named after Samuel Hahnemann, the organizer of homeopathy. It is affiliated with Drexel University College of Medicine and serves as its Center City Hahnemann campus. In 1993 Hahnemann University Hospital was purchased by Allegheny General. In 1998 the guardian organization, Allegheny Health Education and Research Foundation, opted for non-payment and Tenet Healthcare Corporation obtained its property. These property included Hahnemann University Hospital and other territorial doctors facilities, for example, Roxborough Memorial Hospital, St. Christophers Hospital for Children and Warminster Hospital. The hospital is presently claimed by Tenet Healthcare. After Tenet Healthcare gained the property of the Allegheny Health Education and Research Foundation, it made the MCP Hahnemann University and organized Drexel University to accept its operation. In 2002 Tenet Healthcare consented to a 20 year merger between MCP Hahnemann University and Drexel University, and an association between the Drexel University College of Medicine and Tenets showing clinics in the Philadelphia region.
