Introduction:
IISWBM was constituted on 25th April, 1953 by a resolution passed by the Senate of the University of Calcutta. This activity was taken by the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India and the commanders of industry in India to set up interestingly an administration training establishment in India, an idea outsider to numerous in the educational fraternity around then. The Institute has effectively achieved its Diamond Jubilee Year, meaning 60 years of significant excursion in administration instruction in India since that day. IISWBM, the principal administration foundation of India was in this manner built up by Dr. B.C. Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal as its Founder-President and Prof. D.K. Sanyal as the principal Director. The Government of India, Department of Posts in acknowledgment of 50 years of brilliant presence of the primary B-school in the nation, discharged a Commemorative Postage Stamp on IISWBM, on 25th April, 2004 in New Delhi.
Research and Projects:
The personnel of the Institute have taken up various researches and project work especially to create industry-organization collaboration. The prime region of research and consultancy work included key practical territories of administration viz., marketing, HR, finance, IT, and so on other than Public Systems Management viz., transportation & logistics, environment, energy, health care & hospital management.
