On May 23rd of 1964, the Jiwaji University has come in to existence, in the city of Gwalior, India, with the support of Late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India.
University was built in the campus area of 225 acres, on the name of Maharaja Shrimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia, as the campus area was a generous contribution of Scindia family.
In course of time, the university has excelled in different field, such as, inter-disciplinary teaching, extracurricular activities, health and public awareness programs, healthy student-teacher relations, transparent admission procedure, cosmopolitan student profile, judicious use of resources and quality of research. Supporting the novel ideas and keeping the development of university in notice, the university has established Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Thus IQAC, helping in the development of Jiwaji University, will be monitored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). University has started Jiwaji University journals, to support scientific research and publications.
