As an integrated part of public health intelligence in the Centre for Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University and the North West region, the NWPHO is also a member of a national network of other public health observatories across England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland (the APHO). The Network of Public Health Observatories is a part of Public Health England from 1st April 2013. Public Health England has been established to protect and improve the nation’s health and wellbeing and to reduce inequalities. It will lead on the development of a 21st-century health and wellbeing service, supporting local authorities and the NHS to deliver the greatest possible improvements in public health.
