St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital

St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, established in the year 1962 by Danny Thomas an entertainer with the help of Dr. Lemuel Diggs. The main objective of the hospital is that "no child should die in the dawn of life". The principle statement given by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is “to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric calamitous infections through examination and treatment. Since St. Jude was established the survival rate increases by 4% for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most general type of pediatric cancer.
In 2010 St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been named the best children’s cancer hospital in US by U.S News & World Report. It is associated with many affiliated hospitals over the nation to expand its efforts beyond its own physical walls. St. Jude has an International Outreach Program to improve the survival rates of children with catastrophic illnesses worldwide through the transfer of knowledge, technology and organizational skills.
