The Taipei Hospital was established as a community masses-based hospital with top medical staff. it is a full-service, total care medical institution that is prepared to meet the comprehensive healthcare needs of Taipeis 2.6 million residents. Now, it is the only public regional teaching hospital in the Hsinchuang area as well as the leader of the North Regional Alliance of Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) Hospitals. The merger of ten municipal hospitals into one unit has made the Taipei City Hospital the largest healthcare organization in Northern Taiwan. The Taipei Hospital is possession of 375 general beds and 162 specialty beds. The theme of this reform was the creation of a “Total Care System”, namely a network that begins caring for an individual from before they are born until they are elderly. Currently, there are 123 physicians on duty, with total staff numbering at more than 1000.
