The University of Ostrava is located in the city of Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Area, Czech Republic. Established in 1991, it is the newest public university in Ostrava. It includes six ability and two institutions providing university knowledge. The University of Ostrava started on 28 Sept 1991. Its roots can be tracked back to 1953, when a coaching college for upcoming main school instructors was started out in the encompassing town of Opava. In 1959, all instructors coaching within the area was structured into a single organization – the recently established Pedagogical Institution in Ostrava. Five years later, the institute was granted university position and became a separate Staff of Education, providing four-year level programs to upcoming main school instructors. The range of levels was later prolonged to include a five-year program for upcoming instructors of higher season categories. Progressively, other ability, divisions and analysis centers signed up with the University of Ostrava, forming it gradually into its present form and moving the focus from instructors to analysis and advancement in common. In Jan 2012, it started to combine with the VSB - Technological University of Ostrava with the aim of becoming the third biggest university in the Czech Republic and to get the position of an analysis university. The merging should have been finished by 2015; the name of the new university is still to be identified.
