The University of Phoenix has an open-enrollment admission policy, requiring diploma, or its equivalent as criteria for admissions. The university at present is having 112 campuses worldwide and converses degrees in over 100 degree programs at the associate, bachelors, masters and doctoral degree levels. It is a wholly owned supplementary of Apollo Group Inc., a publicly traded Phoenix-based corporation that owns several profit seeking educational institutions. In 2013, the University of Phoenix closed 115 of its campuses which were previously having over 200 campuses. The University of Phoenix attained a peak registration of almost 600,000 students in 2010, but its numbers have deteriorated almost 60 percent since 2010. These changes include allowing students to try classes before officially enrolling and recruiter training programs that are designed to improve student retention and completion rates.
