Zhejiang Forestry University was found in 1958 with the name Tianmu Lin College, in 1966 which was changed to Zhejiang Forestry College which was further changed to Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University in 2010. University has 3 campuses named Donghu, Yi Jin, Zhuji which covers an area of more than 3200 acres. The university is committed to ecological products in the field of scientific research and training, ecological civilisation and ecological science and technology. There are 17 colleges under the university where 62 undergraduate programs are successfully running, which include the national excellence in agriculture and forestry education training program, national professional characteristics, provincial key professional. Including master degree in engineering, agriculture, landscape. There are at least 30 provinces which consist of around 30,000 people in which 20200 are the undergraduate student, more than 1900 are the graduate students. More than 1800 people are the active staff of the university, which include 1100 full time teachers and 639 senior lecturers. There are around 3300 ongoing scientific research projects in the university which include state- level scientific and technological projects, and having funding of nearly 500 million yuan. There are many international exchanges and cooperation which are being actively carried out in the university successively with many different countries in the world like Japan, Kenya, Serbia, United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, Germany, and 24 other countries.
