University of Erlangen-Nuremberg

University of Erlangen-Nuremberg also called Friedrich-Alexander-University is an open research University in the urban communities of Erlangen and Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany. The name Friedrich-Alexander originates from the colleges first organizer Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, and its advocate Christian Frederick Charles Alexander, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach. In Germany traditional liberal arts colleges dont normally have an engineering school or office. However FAU has a unique engineering department. Friedrich-Alexander-University is the second biggest state college in the state Bavaria. It has five schools, 23 divisions, 30 clinical offices, and 20 independent departments. There are approximately 12,000 workers at the college. In Academic Ranking of World Universities for year 2014, Friedrich-Alexander-University positioned second among German colleges in Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences bunch for every one of the four positioning parameters TOP, FUN, Hici and PU.
