Founded in 1929, the University of New Jersey is a public university located in New Jersey, USA. The motto of the university is ‘Enter to Learn, Exit to Serve.’ The university encourages applied-learning experiences that include laboratory experiments, performances, exhibitions, and cooperative education internships.
The university comprises of three colleges offering 41 undergraduate and 27 graduate degree programs. The largest programs of study at the university are Early Childhood Education, and Music. In addition, the university’s Fire Science program is the only university-based bachelor's degree fire science program in the State of New Jersey. The university has started a program called "Professional Security" that helps students get into organizations such as the FBI, NSA, and CIA.
The university’s Media Arts Department is the home base and sponsor of the annual Black Maria Film and Video Festival, an international juried competition and traveling exhibition which recognizes and supports independent film, video and emerging media. The university offers scholarships and awards to students who meet the financial requirements of pursuing higher education.
