Vision Therapy: Improving Eye Coordination for Better Performance
Received Date: Nov 01, 2025 / Published Date: Dec 01, 2025
Abstract
Binocular vision therapy is a vital optometric intervention addressing conditions affecting eye coordination. Studies demonstrate
its efficacy in improving visual skills, reducing symptoms like eye strain and double vision, and enhancing visual performance.
Research specifically supports its use in college students and pediatric populations for convergence insufficiency, leading to improved
visual comfort and academic outcomes. Vision therapy is also effective for asthenopia associated with intermittent exotropia and for
accommodative/vergence dysfunctions in adolescents. Binocular vision anomalies are linked to reading difficulties, highlighting the
role of optometric interventions.
