In this procedure diagnostic testing is often used for selecting appropriate and optimal therapies based on the context of a patient’s genetic information. The use of genetic content has a major role in certain fields of personalized medicine. The term was first introduced in the context of genetics, though it has since grown to include all sorts of measures of personalization.
