Microinflammation is the combination of micro + inflammation and it is defined as the body’s defensive response towards an invading microorganism as an effort for self-protection to eradicate harmful stimuli which can be referred as inflammation which responds towards the presence of micro-organisms. Microinflammation is included in the dysfunctioning of arterio-venous fistula in patients with the maintenance of hemodialysis.
The inflammatory response can be provoked by physical, chemical and biological agents. The classic signs of inflammation are heat, redness, swelling pain and loss of function. Although these infectious agents can produce inflammation and infections are not synonymous.
