Breast Cancer Surgery

Breast Cancer Surgery is often needed to remove a breast tumor. Breast Cancer surgeries differ by the amount of healthy tissue that is removed with the tumor. This Breast Cancer Surgery includes breast-conserving surgery and mastectomy. Lumpectomy is also called breast-conserving surgery. The goal of a lumpectomy is to leave as much of your healthy breast tissue alone as possible.

Breast cancer begins when abnormal cancerous cells in the breast grow and multiply without stopping, creating a tumor. Breast cancer usually starts in the ducts or lobules of the breast

Prostate Cancer Surgery

Prostate Cancer Surgery is a common choice to try to cure prostate cancer if it is not thought to have spread outside the gland. It involves surgically removing the entire prostate gland and some surrounding tissue. It is also known as radical prostatectomy. It can be done in different ways like Radical retropubic prostatectomy, Laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, Robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

The main type of surgery for prostate cancer is known as a radical prostatectomy. In this operation, the surgeon removes the entire prostate gland plus some of the tissue around it, including the seminal vesicles

Colon Cancer Surgery

Colon Cancer Surgery type of surgery meant for bowel cancers. This is the main treatment for early colorectal cancer. Surgeries using this method go by different names, such as colectomy, segmental resection, low anterior resection, and proctectomy with colo-anal anastomosis. The terms used in Colorectal Cancer Surgery are Polypectomy (is a procedure in which polyps are removed), Local excision (used to treat cancers in the rectum), Resection (involves the removal of part, or all, of the colon), Laparoscopic surgery (to look inside the abdominal cavity with a special camera or scope).

Surgery is the main treatment for early colorectal cancer. Often, the piece of the colon or rectum with the tumor is removed and the ends are sewn back together. Surgeries using this method go by different names, such as colectomy, segmental resection, low anterior resection, and proctectomy with colo-anal anastomosis

Pancreatic Cancer Surgery

Surgery is the only therapy with potentially curative intention in pancreatic cancer. Several studies have shown that removing only part of the cancer does not help patients live longer. Pancreaticoduodenectomy is the most common operation to remove a cancer of the exocrine pancreas. It is also sometimes used to treat pancreatic NETs.

Treatment of stage III pancreatic cancer may include the following: Palliative surgery or stent placement to bypass blocked areas in ducts or the small intestine. Chemotherapy followed by chemoradiation. Chemoradiation followed by chemotherapy. Chemotherapy with or without targeted therapy

Thyroid Cancer Surgery

Thyroid cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the thyroid gland. Surgery is the treatment most often used for follicular, papillary and medullary thyroid cancers, except for some anaplastic thyroid cancers. Complete surgical resection of the entire thyroid and affected lymph node compartments is the cornerstone of treatment.

Surgery is the main treatment in nearly every case of thyroid cancer, except for some anaplastic thyroid cancers. If thyroid cancer is diagnosed by a fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy, surgery to remove the tumor and all or part of the remaining thyroid gland is usually recommended.Thyroidectomy is surgery to remove the thyroid gland. As with lobectomy, this is typically done through an incision a few inches long across the front of the neck.

Oesophageal Cancer Surgery

Oesophageal Cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the Oesophagus. Surgery is an integral part of the treatment of esophageal cancer. Surgery to remove some or most of the esophagus is called an esophagectomy. Removal of the esophagus (esophagectomy) may be utilized to prevent esophageal cancer from occurring in high-risk individuals with Barrett’s esophagus, as primary treatment for early stage cancer.

Surgery to remove some or most of the esophagus is called an esophagectomy. Often a small part of the stomach is removed as well. The upper part of the esophagus is then connected to the remaining part of the stomach. Part of the stomach is pulled up into the chest or neck to become the new esophagus.

Throat Cancer Surgery

Surgery is used to diagnose, stage and treat cancer, and to manage certain cancer-related symptoms. Throat Cancer Surgery is the preferred treatment for early-stage throat cancers. The throat is comprised of the pharynx and the larynx. Depending on the stage and location of the cancer, different operations may be used to remove the cancer and some nearby parts of the larynx or hypopharynx. After the cancer is removed, reconstructive surgery may be done to help restore the appearance and function of the affected areas.

Surgery is the preferred treatment for early-stage throat cancers. The throat is comprised of the pharynx and the larynx. For advanced stage or recurrent throat cancer, we may combine surgery with other forms of treatment, such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

Skin Cancer Surgery

Many different kinds of surgery can be used for basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers. The options for surgery depend on the type of skin cancer, how large the cancer is, where it is on the body, and other factors. To remove skin cancer, the following surgical treatment may be used: Excision, Mohs surgery, Curettage and electrodesiccation etc.

skin cancer may result in scars or disfigurement can also be troubling. Your plastic surgeon understands your concerns and will guide you through treatment and explain the resulting effect on your health and appearance. Skin cancer, much like any form of cancer, may require surgery to remove cancerous growths. Your plastic surgeon can surgically remove cancerous and other skin lesions using specialized techniques to preserve your health and your appearance.

Leukemia Surgery

Leukemia cells spread widely throughout the bone marrow and other organs, so surgery cannot be used to cure this type of cancer. The reasons for this are two-fold: (1) leukemia cells usually are widespread throughout the body at the time of diagnosis, so they cannot be "cut out" like other forms of cancer; and (2) surgery is not needed for diagnosis, since bone marrow aspiration usually is adequate to confirm the disease.

leukemia cells spread throughout the bone marrow and to many other organs through the blood, it’s not possible to cure this type of cancer by surgery. Aside from a possible lymph node biopsy, surgery rarely has any role even in the diagnosis, since a bone marrow aspirate and biopsy can usually diagnose leukemia.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy or radiotherapy, often abbreviated RT, RTx, or XRT, is therapy using ionizing radiation, generally as part of cancer treatment to control or kill malignant cells. Radiation therapy kills cancer cells by damaging their DNA (the molecules inside cells that carry genetic information and pass it from one generation to the next). Radiation therapy can either damage DNA directly or create charged particles (free radicals) within the cells that can in turn damage the DNA.

Radiation therapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses beams of intense energy to kill cancer cells. Radiation therapy most often gets its power from X-rays, but the power can also come from protons or other types of energy.
