About the Journal

Cancer begins with the cells. Usually cell grows, divide and then die. Sometimes cells may undergo mutation process and begins to grow, divide faster than normal cells. In the process of cell growth and dividing, new cells will be replacing with old cells and die. But in the case of the abnormal cell the new cells will grow when the body doesn’t need them and old cells doesn’t die when it should die. These abnormal cells clump together forms tumors. Advance in Cancer Prevention addresses all types of cancer, how cancer forms in the body and their prevention. It focuses on Cancer Vaccines, Chemotherapy, Radioactive Iodine Therapy, Breast Reconstruction Surgery, Mamography, Chemoprevention, aromatase inhibitors, Scintimammography, Oncoplastic surgery, Sumoylation, Dietry Supplements, Cancer Screening, Cancer and Nutrition, Exercise and Cancer, Alternative Cancer Medicines, Stem cell transplants for cancer prevention, Naturopathic Treatments, Clinical Naturopathy, Cancer Prevention from nuts.

OMICS International Journals includes a wide range of fields in its discipline to create a platform for the authors to make their contribution towards that journal and the editorial office promises a peer review process with the help of peer reviewed journals list for the submitted manuscripts in the aspects of quality publishing.

The journal is using Editorial Tracking System for quality in review process. Editorial Tracking is an online manuscript submission, review and tracking systems where authors can directly submit their valuable manuscripts in Editorial Tracking system. Review processing is performed by the editorial board members of Advance in cancer prevention or outside experts; at least two individual reviewers has to agree for the review process, followed by editor approval, this required for acceptance of any citable manuscript. Authors may submit manuscript and track their progress through the system to publication. Reviewers can download manuscripts and submit their opinions to the editor. Editors can manage the whole submission/review/revise/publish process.

Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Breast reconstruction is a type of surgery for women who have had all or part of a breast removed. The surgery rebuilds the breast mound to match the size and shape of the other breast. The nipple and the darker area around the nipple can also be added. Most women who have had a breast removed (mastectomy) are able to have breast reconstruction. Women who have had only the part of the breast around the cancer removed (lumpectomy or breast-conserving surgery) might not need reconstruction, but sometimes they do. Breast reconstruction is done by a plastic surgeon.

3D Mammograms

Digital breast tomosynthesis also known as 3D mammography, is a revolutionary new screening and diagnostic breast imaging tool to improve the early detection of breast cancer. During the 3D part of the exam, an x-ray arm sweeps over the breast, taking multiple images in seconds. Images are displayed as a series of thin slices that can be viewed by our radiologists as individual images or in a dynamic interactive animation.

Chemoprevention

Cancer chemoprevention involves the chronic administration of a synthetic, natural or biological agent to reduce or delay the occurrence of malignant tumour. The potential value of this approach has been demonstrated with trials in breast, prostate and colon cancer. The paradigm for developing new chemo preventive agents has changed markedly in the last decade and now involves extensive preclinical mechanistic evaluation of agents before clinical trials are instituted and a focus on defining biomarkers of activity that can be used as early predictors of efficacy.

Aromatase Inhibitors

Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) are a class of drugs used in the treatment of breast cancer and ovarian cancer in postmenopausal women and swelling of breast tissue in men. They may also be used off-label to reduce increase of oestrogen conversion during cycle with external testosterone. They may also be used for chemoprevention in high risk women.

Scintimammography

Scintimammography, also known as nuclear medicine breast imaging, is an examination that may be used to investigate a breast abnormality that has been discovered on mammography. Scintimammography is also known as Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) or Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI).

Oncoplastic Surgery

Oncoplastic surgery combines the latest plastic surgery techniques with breast surgical oncology. When a largely tylectomy is required that will leave the breast distorted, the remaining tissue is sculpted to realign the nipple and areola and restore a natural appearance to the breast shape. The opposing breast will also be modified to create symmetry. This is a good option for patients who are candidates for breast conservation therapy or lumpectomy, and are also candidates for breast reduction or mastopexy (breast lift).

Dietary Supplements

A nutrition supplement is intended to provide nutrients that may otherwise not be consumed in sufficient quantities. Supplements as generally understood include vitamins, minerals, fibre, fatty acids, or amino acids, among other substances. U.S. authorities define dietary supplements as foods, while elsewhere they may be classified as drugs or other products.

Cancer Screening

Cancer screening is looking for cancer before a person has any symptoms. Screening tests can help find cancer at an early stage, before symptoms appear. When abnormal tissue or cancer is found early, it may be easier to treat or cure.

Cancer and Nutrition

Healthy food is important for cancer patients. Healthy eating habits are important during cancer treatment. Cancer can change the way the body uses food. Cancer and cancer treatments may affect nutrition. Loss of appetite and cachexia are common causes of malnutrition in cancer patients. It is important to treat weight loss caused by cancer and its treatment.

Exercise and Cancer

Research indicates that physical activity after a diagnosis of cancer may be beneficial in improving quality of life, reducing fatigue, and assisting with energy balance. Both reduced physical activity and the side effects of treatment have been linked to increased weight after a cancer diagnosis.

Stem Cell Transplants for Cancer Prevention

A stem cell transplant replaces defective or damaged cells in patients whose normal blood cells have been replaced by cancerous cells. Transplants can also be used to treat hereditary disorders such as sickle cell RBC, or to help patients recover from or better tolerate cancer treatment.

Alternative Cancer Medicines

Many people with cancer are interested in trying anything that may help them, including complementary and alternative cancer treatments. If cancer makes you feel as if you have little control over your health, alternative cancer treatments may offer some feeling of control. But many alternative cancer treatments are unproved and some may even be dangerous.

Naturopathic Treatments

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care profession, emphasizing prevention, treatment, and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances that encourage individuals’ inherent self-healing process. The practice of naturopathic medicine includes modern and traditional, scientific, and empirical methods.
