In 1870 the Maharaja of Vijanagaram initially skimmed the thought of beginning a Medical College in Lucknow. However the thought was diluted because of lack of wealth. In 1905 the visit of King-Emperor, George V, then Prince of Wales, propelled the thought of making a school to honor the event. The originator of this fine perfect to remember the event was late Raja Sir Tassadnq Rasul Khan of Jehangirabad to whom Sir Harcourt Butler composed on first December 1905. "It should ever be a wellspring of pride to you to imagine that the first proposal of such a development originated from you totally spontaneously." The achievement of this extraordinary venture of therapeutic instruction and easing was guaranteed when the establishment stone was laid by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales in 1906, and amid his second visit for the Coronation Durbar as King Emperor, His Majesty was satisfied to give his agree and to assign the College by his name. The College was finished and the work of the first restorative session was begun in October 1911, however the stylized opening of the school assembling by His Honor Sir John Prescot Hewett did not happen until January 27, 1912. The College structures comprised of a fine Administrative Block, an Anatomical piece, a consolidated Pathological and Physiological square and a Medico-Legal Department. When the College was finished the development of the Hospital itself was started. The work for Out-patient Department was done by April 1913 and the fundamental building a couple of months after the fact.
