Northern Border University is located in Arar, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 2007. It contains 12 colleges, 7 in Arar, 3 in Rafha, and 2 in Turayf. It has a variety of majors in multiple levels including bachelor and masters degrees. Northern Borders University represents the last completing university education blocks in term of covering all the regions. In 1428 Hijri , a Royal approval was issued to establish the university. The first college in Arar , Girls Education College , was established in 1402 followed by Teachers Education College in 1428. The university enjoined girls education college in Arar, girls education college in Rafha in addition to sciences college which was founded in 1427 under the supervision of King Abdulaziz University. Northern Borders University encompasses 12 colleges , 7 of which in Arar , 3 in Rafha and 2 in Turayf. After 800 years of its closure the university reopened on 1st September, 2014 with 15 students and 10 faculty members. Although the university could get 1000 applications from across the globe, the university provided admissions to 15 students alone to begin with. The university proposed to start seven different schools of knowledge learning includingschool of Historical Studies, School of Environment and Ecological Studies, School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religion, School of Languages and Literature, School of International Relations and Peace Studies, School of Information Sciences and Technology and School of Business Management (Public Policy and Development Studies).
