The University of Atlanta was established in the early 1990s by Robert and Steven Bettinger. It is a private, distance education institution. It is located in Atlanta, Georgia. By 1995, it was offering distance-learning degrees.
In 2008, it received accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). It is also accredited by Accreditation Service for International Colleges. The United Kingdom Department for Education and Skills recognized the Accreditation Service for International Colleges.
