As scientists unravel the intricacies of our DNA, they are discovering that our individual genetic codes can significantly determine how we respond to specific nutrients, dietary patterns, and even entire food groups. The concept is simple yet profound: the same food can affect two people in entirely different ways based on their genetic makeup. This understanding is laying the groundwork for precision health, where personalized nutrition and preventive care are tailored to each person’s genetic profile. At its core, nutrigenomics investigates how dietary components influence gene expression and how genetic variations can affect the body’s response to nutrients.
