Their responsibilities span from meticulous evidence collection in sexual assault cases and identifying human trafficking to offering traumainformed support and managing complex mental health situations. This demanding field frequently leads to emotional and psychological toll, including significant burnout. Research consistently highlights the critical need for enhanced support systems, specialized training, and resilience programs to sustain these dedicated professionals and ensure comprehensive patient care.
