Abstract

A growing proportion of people can no longer be cured but may anticipate having their cancer diagnosis for
a long time. In both clinical practise and research, these people with "prolonged incurable cancer" are frequently disregarded. Patients experience issues that are typically addressed from a palliative or survivorship viewpoint, however this may not be sufficient to address the extensive range of physical and mental issues that patients with long-term incurable cancer may experience. Therefore, it is important to deliver components from both domains in harmony to further improve the care paths for these patients. Furthermore, there is an urgent need for improved clinical awareness and additional research to guarantee future high-quality care for this significant patient population.
