Abstract

Public perception and community engagement play a crucial role in the success and sustainability of oilfield waste disposal projects. Negative public attitudes, driven by environmental concerns, health risks, and lack of transparency, often lead to opposition and regulatory challenges. This study explores the factors influencing public perception, including risk communication, stakeholder involvement, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Through surveys, case studies, and policy analysis, we assess strategies for enhancing community engagement and fostering trust between industry stakeholders and local populations. Findings highlight the importance of inclusive decisionmaking, transparent communication, and proactive environmental management to mitigate conflicts and improve project acceptance.
