Recovery of organic and inorganic pollutants by porous materials

Abstract

Problems related to pollution are now the major concern
of the entire planet. We must therefore find solutions to
preserve and control our environment and our health.
In this sense our team is interested in the removal of dyes,
pesticides, and heavy metals from industrial waste by the
process of adsorption and liquid-solid extraction, on porous
materials. The selected materials are mesoporoussilicas
and lamellar double hydroxides (LDH) that have been
synthesized and characterized by different physico-chemical
techniques (DRX, Nitrogen Adsorption, FTIR, TDATG,
SEM and TEM). The parameters studied are: pH of
the aqueous phase, time, and adsorption and extraction
capacity. The kinetic study was also studied. The results
are promising.
