Abstract

Cancer continues to be a global health challenge, necessitating the development of effective anticancer medications. Camptothecin and its derivative, topotecan, are prominent chemotherapeutic agents that have demonstrated promising efficacy against various types of cancers. This dissertation aims to comprehensively investigate the novel method of action employed by camptothecin and topotecan in combating cancer. By elucidating the molecular mechanisms and cellular targets involved, this study sheds light on the pharmacological principles underlying the therapeutic potential of these drugs. The findings from this research may contribute to the development of improved treatment strategies for cancer patients. Camptothecin and its derivative, topotecan, have emerged as promising chemotherapeutic agents with potent anticancer properties. This dissertation investigates the novel methods of action employed by camptothecin and topotecan, shedding light on their mechanisms at the molecular level.
