Abstract

The intersection of palliative care and addiction psychiatry represents a crucial area of focus in the management of patients with advanced illnesses who have comorbid substance use disorders. These patients face unique challenges, including the need for effective symptom relief, management of withdrawal symptoms, and addressing the psychosocial implications of substance use. Integrating palliative care with addiction psychiatry enables a compassionate and holistic approach, prioritizing symptom management, psychological support, and harm reduction.
