Special Issue: Host-Pathogen Interactions in the Infectious Diseases

There is long standing co-existence of hosts and pathogens and the interactions are  remained as one of the interesting and phenomenal  topics of scientific research since the human life has started. The biological, biochemical and pathological studies of infectious diseases attracted the attention of many researchers and provided many insights in emerging infections, causes, and diagnosis and treatment strategies.  The continuous efforts of biomedical research, advanced microbiological and molecular biological studies might improve the understanding of mechanisms involved in infections and host-pathogen reactions.

Since the wide range of pathogens and disease causing agents are existed, there are maximum possibilities that the degree of infections and diseases is even more than the expected. In understanding the infections, it is important to have sufficient knowledge about the environmental factors, geographical distribution, anatomical and physiological aspects of both hosts and pathogens. In immunological point of view, it is important to aware of the type of pathogen, route of infection, targeted cells and organs, and primary and secondary immune response by the host systems.

Host-pathogen interactions of infectious diseases is holistic phenomenon that combines microbiologists, molecular biologists, immunologists and biochemists to share and update the current knowledge. Since it has close association with human health care system, it is important to prepare standard protocols that could share among across research communities with no barriers.  Even more, it is also important to organize the research facilities across contents by which the endemics and pandemics will be studied as soon as they are reported.

The topic has drawn attention of researchers ever since the early 19th century, therefore, many theories and hypothesis are being proposed. The special Edition Host-Pathogen interactions intended to provide recent updated on global emerging and re-emerging burdens and step forward the developments. The Editor invites original reports, reviews, expert opinions, policy reports, public health surveys and letters for publication under the special edition.
