Saudi Arabia is an Arab State in Western Asia and officially known as kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Over 80% of Arabian Peninsula is covered by Saudi Arabia. It was found by SIPRI that Saudi Arabia was the World’s second largest arms importer. It was ranked as the world’s sixth largest gas reserves. It is an absolute monarchy. With Qatar and Turkey, Saudi Arabia is openly supporting the Army of conquest, an umbrella group of anti-government forces fighting in the Syrian civil war that reportedly includes an al-Qaeda linked al-Nusra Front and another Salafi coalition known as Ahrar ash-sham.

Geographically, Saudi Arabia is the second largest state in the Arab world and the fifth largest state in Asia, as it covers 2,150,000 Km2(830,000 Sqm.) of the land area. It consists of both the Red Sea coast and a Persian Gulf coast. According to The CIA World Factbook Saudi Arabia is listed as the world’s 13th largest state. Saudi Arabia experiences a desert climate with extremely high day-time temperatures and a sharp temperature drop at night exempting for the southwestern province of Asir. Asir region is influenced by the Indian Ocean monsoons. Saudi Arabia's plant life mostly consists of small herbs and shrubs requiring little water.

Economy of Saudi Arabia mainly depends on the oil production, as it comprises about 45% of the nominal gross domestic product. It depends on 75% of the budget revenues and 90 % of the export earnings from the oil industry. In addition to petroleum and gas, Saudi also has a small gold mining sector in the Mahd adh Dhahab region and other mineral industries, an agricultural sector (especially in the southwest) based on dates and livestock. The thought of desert agriculture was being encouraged by Saudi Arabia by consuming 300 billion cubic meter of mostly non-renewable water reserves at free of cost and by providing subsidies. List of agriculture journals depicts that Agriculture in Saudi Arabia is focused on the export of wheat, dates, dairy products, eggs, fish, poultry, fruits, vegetables and flowers to markets around the world. Saudi Arabia ranked as a major buyer of agricultural land in foreign countries.

Researches have been carrying out in the fields of agriculture and oil and gas field. King Abdul Aziz University and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology are the renowned research and development centers in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries. Tawakel Karman first Arab woman and first only Yemeni to receive a Nobel Prize. Numerous agriculture journals have been published from Saudi Arabia.
