Biography

Dr. Agwu is an astute banker, seasoned researcher, a versatile professional lecturer, consultant, trainer, and education/business manager; with twelve years banking and finance experience and 14years of lecturing experiences in various academic institutions in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He obtained his PhD from the University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. Edwin started his teaching career in 1989 before joining the banking industry in 1993 during which he spent more than ten years and rose to management position. During his banking tenure, he worked in various departments: domestic and international banking operations, branch operations, relationship marketing, inspection, and internal control – all these equipped him commercially. In addition, he has substantial management/consultancy experiences in financial services and business development; cross-border experience in leadership, strategic management and skill development applicable in organizational design, research and information technology. He is currently an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Marketing at Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria and serves as external dissertation supervisor for Masters and PhD students at various institutions in the UK; such as Manchester Business School, Univ. of Warwick, Univ. of Wales, Middlesex University, and various colleges in London affiliated to various universities across the UK. He has successfully supervised more than 250 undergraduates and Master’s Degree students to completion.
