Biography

Prof. Govindasamy Agoramoorthy obtaining PhD in 1987 from the University of Jodhpur, Prof. Agoramoorthy directed the Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Project in Liberia, West Africa. He became the first biologist to carry out surveys for forest primates and white-breasted guinea fowls in Liberia on behalf of World Wide Fund for Nature. Between 1989 and 1993, he served as was a visiting Scientist at Smithsonian Institution (Washington, DC) where he carried out research on the ecology of red howler monkeys in Venezuela. Later in 1993 and 1994, he conducted primate surveys in Trinidad & Tobago (West Indies). Between 1995 and 1996, he led field studies on the ecology of black and gold howlers in Argentina. Taiwan and India. He currently serves as a Distinguished Research Professor at Tajen University, Taiwan. He also serves in the board of several advocacy groups and scientific journals globally.
