Elizabeth M Hecht

Associate Professor of Radiology at CUMC

Biography

Dr. Elizabeth M Hecht graduated from Amherst College and received her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is currently Associate Professor of Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) and Director of Cross-Sectional Vascular Imaging. Dr. Hecht completed her residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical College and fellowship in Body and Cardiovascular MR Imaging at New York University.She began her career as part of the abdominal imaging division at New York University and served as Director of their Body MRI fellowship. She subsequently worked at the University of Pennsylvania in the Abdominal and Cardiovascular divisions and served as director of their ACGME accredited Abdominal Imaging Fellowship before coming to CUMC in 2011. She currently serves as Deputy Editor for the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (JMRI) and Fellow of the Society of Abdominal Radiology. Dr. Hecht’s research interests include advanced MR imaging techniques and quantitative oncologic imaging with her current focus on imaging in pancreatic cancer. She has authored or coauthored over 65 research publications and book chapters.
